Privacy policy
Ripe is a day planner that works on your device. Your tasks, plans, journal, habits and name never leave it, and we never see them.
What we collect
Without an account: nothing about you. The phone apps check our server for updates, which sends only the app's version and platform (iPhone or Android). Ripe has no analytics, advertising, crash reporting or third-party tracking.
With a Ripe Premium account (optional): your email address, your password (stored scrambled, never readable) and your purchase record, so Premium works and can be restored on a new phone. Purchases are confirmed with Apple or Google. This is never used for advertising or shared with anyone else. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account → Delete account, which deletes it from our server, or ask us to delete it by email.
Where your data lives
Your plans live in Ripe's private storage on your phone (or in your browser, for the web version). They're deleted when you delete the app, or when you use Settings → Erase everything. A Premium account lives on our server until you delete it.
Backups
When you tap Export backup, Ripe creates a file and hands it to your phone's share sheet. Where that file goes (Files, email, a messaging app) is your choice, and that service's own privacy policy applies. Import backup only reads the file you pick.
Permissions
- Alarms (iPhone, iOS 26 and later): to ring at the start of each focus session and break you plan.
- Notifications: to show alarms and chimes.
- Alarms & reminders and full-screen notifications (Android): so each block rings on the exact minute and can show over the lock screen.
- Run at startup (Android): to set your alarms again after the phone restarts.
- Vibration and keeping the screen awake during a focus session.
Ripe does not use your location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera. Planning, alarms and the timer work without an internet connection.
Children
Ripe isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly create accounts for them. Without an account, Ripe collects no data from anyone.
App stores
Apple and Google may collect information about downloads and app performance under their own privacy policies. If you buy Premium, they tell us the purchase is valid and when it renews or ends; Ripe never receives your payment details.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
